You can tell it's organic, the quality shines through. Mellow, cedar-tinged, velvety black fruit and an elegant oaky finish. One for lamb chops or hard cheeses. Castillon hosted a battle that ended the 100 Years' War, ending England's ownership of Aquitaine, and claret on favourable terms. Here, by way of compensation, is Philippe Bardet's sumptuous Merlot/Cabernet from his 28 hectare Castillon domaine, where the vineyards are fertilised only by compost and all fruit is hand-picked.
